ZIONISTS USE FALSE PRETEXTS TO COMMIT BRUTAL PUNISHMENT AND GENOCIDE AGAINST PALESTINIANS
by Syarif Hidayat
The Israeli occupation regime is resorting to false pretexts to launch fresh aggression against the Palestinian people, a political analyst tells Press TV. The Zionists have probably kidnapped and killed the three Jewish settlers’ boys: Naftali Fraenkel (16, from Nof Ayalon), Gilad Shaer (16, from Talmon), and Eyal Yifrah (19, from Elad) to get a pretext to punish the innocent Palestinians. The Zionist Israelis launched “Operation Brother’s Keeper” in West Bank and “Operation Protective Edge” to commit barbaric punishment and genocide against Palestinians.
Operation Brother’s Keeper, an Israeli Defense Forces operation in response to the 2014 kidnapping of Israeli teens. On 12 June 2014, three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped in Gush Etzion, in the West Bank, as they were hitchhiking to their homes. The Israel Defense Forces initiated Operation Brother’s Keeper in search of the three teenagers. IDF’s Nahal Brigade conducted a search in the Hebron area. As part of the operation, in the following 11 days Israel arrested around 350 Palestinians, including nearly all of Hamas’ West Bank leaders. Five Palestinians were killed during the military operation.
On 15 June, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the teens had been kidnapped by Hamas, which Hamas denied. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas maintained that as of 22 June there was no evidence that Hamas was behind the kidnapping. Hamas praised the kidnapping, without claiming responsibility.
On 26 June, the Israel Security Agency released the identities of two suspects in the kidnapping, Hamas fighters Marwan Kawasmeh and Amar Abu-Isa. Both ISA and Palestinian authorities said that the two men have been missing since the night of the kidnapping, and the ISA stated that both had engaged in terrorism, been arrested, and served time in the past, and were considered suspects immediately after the kidnapping. On 30 June, the Israeli military found the bodies of the three missing teenagers in a field north-west of Hebron. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed a tough response to the killings.
“This is a Zionist campaign to escalate the suppression of the Palestinian people and they are using every device they can to provoke a response to provide a further justification for a new and more drastic repression and invasion,” said Ralph Schoenman, author of Hidden History of Zionism from Berkeley, in an interview with Press TV. “You have to keep in mind that the fundamental character of the Zionist invasion and occupation of Palestine was the massacre of its people and the destruction of 475 towns and villages which were razed to the ground and reduced to rubble,” he noted.
He pointed to the recent kidnapping and killing of three Israeli teenagers by unknown elements that triggered Israel’s new aggressions across the occupied territories and said, “Every bit of the Israeli representation of this event is a lie.” The analyst noted that after the three boys were kidnapped, the Israeli police were informed through a phone call on June 12 that the teenagers were dead, but Tel Aviv pretended that the boys were still alive to provide the rationale for the new wave of aggression and invasion.
The Israeli regime stepped up raids on Palestinians as part of a search operation for three Israeli settlers it claimed had disappeared on June 12.
The settlers’ bodies were discovered in a field near the village of Hilhul, north of the city of al-Khalil, in the occupied West Bank on June 30. The Tel Aviv regime attacked the besieged Gaza Strip and areas in the West Bank hours after the bodies were found. Israel claims Palestinian resistance movement Hamas is responsible for the deaths, but Hamas rejects the allegation.
In what is believed to be a revenge attack for the three settlers, a 17-year-oil Palestinian teenager, Mohamed Abu Khdeir, was killed by Israeli settlers earlier this week. Israeli forces also shot dead a Palestinian teenager during a raid on the Jenin refugee camp in northern West Bank on July 1.
Zionists pursuing Nazi-style genocide in Palestine
“Operation Protective Edge” (Hebrew: מִבְצָע צוּק אֵיתָן, Mivtza’ Tzuk Eitan, literally “Operation Solid Cliff”) is an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operation in the Hamas-governed Gaza Strip, launched on 8 July 2014. At least 148 Palestinians have been killed. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs estimated that 70 percent of those killed were civilians as of 12 July.
The Zionist regime of Israel is following in the footsteps of Hitler-era Nazis’ genocidal approach, an analyst writes for Press TV. “Zionist racism, like Nazi racism, is virulent to the point of being genocidal…. Just as the Nazis dedicated themselves to building an ever-expanding Reich free of the taint of lesser races, the Zionists are likewise bent on ethnically cleansing an ever larger slice of Palestine,” Kevin Barrett wrote in a column for the Press TV website.
The analyst’s comment comes as more than 16 Palestinians, including two children, are reported to have been killed and 80 others injured in a fresh spate of air attacks by the Israeli regime on the besieged Gaza Strip on Tuesday. Barrett said the Israeli regime’s continued air strikes against the Palestinians are reminiscent of “Nazi-style behavior.” “Zionism and Nazism have something else in common: racial superiority,” he wrote. The analyst added that Nazis and Zionists both believe themselves a “master race” or “chosen people.”
“The Nazis looked down on Jews, gypsies, Slavs, Arabs and Africans in exactly the same way that Zionists look down on Arabs (and goyim in general) today,” wrote Barrett. He described the Zionists as “new Nazis” seeking to trigger a “total war” in the world. The apartheid regime of Israel denies about 1.7 million people in Gaza their basic rights, such as freedom of movement, jobs that pay proper wages, and adequate healthcare and education.
Israel seeks to hide own genocidal nature
A political commentator says Israel’s recent aggression against the West Bank is aimed at deflecting the world’s attention from the “genocidal” nature of the Tel Aviv regime.“They always try to find a … motive that diverts attention from the murderous and genocidal and plunderous nature of the” Tel Aviv regime, Gilad Atzmon told Press TV. The political analyst described Israel as “the biggest threat to world peace”, saying the Israeli “lobby in America and Britain and France are actually very dangerous to their nation and to the people around them as well as the planet.”
He also said that the Israeli lobby has also been supporting terrorist groups, including Takfiri terrorists from the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), who are carrying out acts of terror and committing atrocities against the people in the region. “I think that the situation in Iraq and Syria is very grave, but we have to remember that just a year ago it was the Jewish lobby in America and Israel that pushed to send ammunition to support ISIS and all those very frightening organizations,” he said.
Since the announcement of the disappearance of three Israeli settlers on June 12, the Israeli regime has been conducting air raids on the besieged West Bank, allegedly as part of military search operations. On June 30, the bodies of the Israeli teenagers were found in a field near the village of Hilhul, north of the city of al-Khalil (Hebron) in the occupied West Bank, triggering a fresh surge of deadly violence against the Palestinians. The Tel Aviv regime claims the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, is responsible for the deaths. Hamas rejects the allegation.
Assault on West Bank and Gaza shows genocidal nature of Israel
Press TV has conducted an interview with Gilad Atzmon, a political commentator, from London, about the violent reaction by the Israeli PM and Israeli settlers to the confirmed deaths of three missing Israeli settlers.
The following is an approximate transcript of the interview.
Press TV: What is your reaction on how things have unfolded now after three weeks where we have the three settlers found dead and you have now a reaction coming – still not proven – but many deducting that extreme settlers were responsible for this? An Israeli police spokesman has said that the main direction right now that Israeli police is looking at is whether the incident was criminal or nationalistic.
Atzmon: Yes, I can imagine that this is what the Israelis would do when a Palestinian is murdered by Israelis, either military forces or just settlers.
They always try to find an outer motive that diverts attention from the murderous and genocidal and plunderous nature of the Jewish state.
I don’t like to talk about particularities – I think the situation on the ground is indeed grave – I like to understand how is it possible that the Jewish state that was supposed to launch a beautiful Jewish homecoming to celebrate the new Israelite and to solve the Jewish question managed only to move the Jewish question or the Jewish problem into a new place and this is a disaster.
I can’t decide whether I was amused or very sad to hear Richard (Richard Hellman, Press TV guest from Washington) a second ago trying to divert attention and make us look at Iraq and Syria. I think that the situation in Iraq and Syria is very grave, but we have to remember that just a year ago it was the Jewish lobby in America and Israel that pushed to send ammunition to support ISIS and all those very frightening organizations.
And I think that we have to start to take a broad look into this topic and to understand that Israel is the biggest threat to world peace and people like Richard and the Jewish lobby in America and Britain and France are actually very dangerous to their nation and to the people around them as well as the planet.
Press TV: Your reaction to Richard Hellman’s description of Israel as the only democracy in the Middle East and as a benefit to the world, if only its neighbors would stop wanting to destroy it.
Atzmon: I think calling Israel a democracy is slightly pathetic. I’ve heard it many times. I want to remind your viewers that in the ‘Israeli democracy’ half of the people living within Israeli-controlled territories are living in open-air prisons – Gaza is an open air prison and it’s not a state, it’s still under Israeli control as we know; the West Bank is an open air prison and when Israel feels like it – like in the last week – it enters the West Bank, it killed, it arrested. It’s not a democracy, it’s a Jewish democracy and in practice it is a terrorist state.
The fact that an American Jew, a Zionist mouthpiece is suggesting to us what should happen in Iraq or in Syria, this is slightly pathetic, but we have to get used to it. It is not down to an American Zionist Jew…
Press TV: Your reaction to Richard Hellman’s comments about Hamas and the Palestinian Authority governing the occupied territories and that they are part of the brutality throughout the Arab and Muslim world – in his words.
Atzmon: Let me correct you. The fact that Mahmoud Abbas is sitting in Ramallah doesn’t mean that he rules. You allow him to serve… you try to make him into… the guy that is policing the Palestinians on behalf of Israel. The PA or the West Bank is not a sovereign territory and this also applies to Gaza for the time being. The fact that Israeli Arabs are entitled to vote is right, but they cannot vote on Israel not entering their territories and this is what Israel did last week and put into action capital punishment; arrested 600 people; killed 12 Palestinians – we don’t even know their names. This is the real issue.
Press TV: Richard Hellamn talks of the independent judiciary and court system, which after investigation can determine who is guilty for the murders of the three Israeli teenagers and also the young Arab man killed allegedly as an act of revenge by Israeli settlers after Mr. Netanyahu’s war mongering speech. Your response?
Atzmon: It is very important to understand that the killing of the three Israelis and the retaliation of Israel is just part of the story. We are dealing with land that was robbed by a Jewish nationalist movement. It’s a plunderous movement. These stories about democracy are totally misleading. Millions of Palestinians are refugees, living in the region and overseas and the fact that three young Israelis were murdered a week ago – and by the way we don’t know who murdered them – It is more than possible that this was an Israeli false flag operation.
The MOSSAD motto is “By way of deception….”. For you (Richard Hellman) and the MOSSAD to lie is a strategy. Hellman: Under the Quran and bible, to kill one person is as bad as killing many 100,000 or a million persons, but there will be an Investigation in Israel…
ISLAM IS AGAINST TERRORISM AND KILLING!
“By God (Allah SWT), he is not a true believer, from whose mischief his neighbors do not feel secure.” – Prophet Mohammed PBUH – (Hadith written by Bukhari and Muslim)
ISLAM IS AGAINST KILLING – IN ISLAM, THE RIGHT TO LIFE IS AN ABSOLUTE VALUE!
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. “Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation (in legal punishment) of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind. And indeed, there came to them Our Messengers with clear proofs, evidence, and signs, even then after that many of them continued to exceed the limits (e.g. by doing oppression unjustly and exceeding beyond the limits set by Allâh by committing the major sins) in the land!” – Al Qur’an, Surah Al-Maidah, Verse 32.
Atzmon: This has nothing to do with the Quran or the bible, it is the way you’re favorite government your “democratic Jewish democracy” interprets the bible and caused Israel’s MOSSAD to decide to pick the motto of “By way of deception…”. For you to lie, to kill your own people if it serves the tribal interest this is exactly what you believe in. This is exactly what you believe in and we see it time after time.
‘Zionists seek to demonize Palestine’
It is time to set the record straight on Israel’s apartheid policy and genocide against Palestinians and to confront the enemies of truth. The decades-long extermination of Palestinians, their Arab, Islamic and Christian cultures would not have been possible had the people in the US and Europe had access to objective media reports and facts about the situation in Palestine and Israel. In reverse, European and US citizens have tolerated their governments complicity with Israeli crimes against Palestinians because billions are spent on a propaganda industry that positions Arabs as villains and sub-human while Israelis, Jews and indeed US and European citizens are positioned as the noble victims.
How pervasive this propaganda is was documented in Dr. Jack Shaheen’s book Real Bad Arabs and a movie under the same title, produced by The Media Education Foundation. Shaheen documents how badly Hollywood has contributed to positioning Arab people as uncivilized, brutal villains, terrorists and outright inhumane or sub-human. Dr. Shaheen compares Hollywood’s positioning of Arabs with Nazi Germany’s anti-Jewish propaganda. He analyzed more than one thousand Hollywood movies from the oldest in the archives up to the latest Blockbusters in 2001. Nearly 25 percent of all Hollywood movies demean Arabs, concluded Shaheen.
The Disney Classic “Aladdin,” that has been watched by hundreds of millions of people worldwide is recycling almost all of the stereotypes used to demean Arabs. It is particularly effective propaganda because it is watched by children and because adults have their guards down when they watch a kid’s cartoon. The theme song of Aladdin is setting the Arabland scene: “Where they cut off your ear if they don’t like your face, it’s barbaric, but hey, … it’s home.” People worldwide, especially children, were coached into believing that Arabland is a place where innocent women have their hands amputated for forgetting to pay at a bazaar. Other movies describe Arabs as super-rich, imbecilic, sex-addicted tyrants who mistreat women, and most importantly white American women who are kidnapped and auctioned off.
Meanwhile, there is a steady stream of Hollywood productions that portray the suffering of the European Jews during the 1930s – 40s. No movie has ever been made about the 25,000 Germans who were burned to death during the fire-bombing of Dresden or the at least 17,500 who were burned to death during the firebombing of Pforzheim. Dr. Jack Shaheen documents that the dehumanizing of Arabs began after World War II and the establishment of the Israeli regime. It increased significantly during the Arab oil embargo in the early seventies.
The Hollywood entertainment industry and corporate Western mainstream media establish the skeleton for a Western consensus reality that deprives Arabs of their culture, identity and most of all, their humanity. Once an enemy has been deprived of his humanity, there is no limit to the outrages that will be tolerated by the people. Nazi Germany succeeded at likening Jews to rats. Hollywood is using exactly the same strategy. The only difference is that it has become more sophisticated, more pervasive and more persuasive. Propaganda explains why the Jewish suffering during World War II is perceived as legitimate while the suffering of Palestinians is ignored.
Human beings have an innate resistance against taking the life of another human being. As long as we don’t speak in terms of psycho-pathology, it takes months of rigorous military training before a person can become a soldier and months more to train a sniper who aims and shoots to kill without a doubt. Tear down the stage set for Arabland and you will be surprised how different the world looks.
The occupation of Palestine is an illegal military occupation. Settlements and outposts are illegal on occupied Palestinian territories. The organized armed forces of Palestinian factions are, under the provisions of the Geneva Conventions and Hague Conventions, legally-formed military forces which resist an illegal military occupation. The 2004 bombing of Gaza was the illegal terror bombing of densely populated civilian territories. It was launched without a formal declaration of war and approval from the UN Security Council and thus a war crime, no matter how much the one and the other report attempts to cover-up that fact.
The euphemism “targeted assassination” covers the fact that Israel and the United States engage in premeditated homicide. The alleged unique suffering of the Jewish people omits legitimate Palestinian suffering. It also omits the fact that forced labor in the former Belgian colony Congo contributed to the death of about 20 percent of the colony’s population.
There are two common denominators for the suffering of European Jews, Palestinians, the Congolese in the former Belgian colony and those butchered and maimed in, for example, Rwanda. The first common denominator is innocenticide; that is, the inflicting of suffering on millions of innocent people. The second common denominator is that none of the above would have been possible without first depriving the victims of their humanity.
On Friday morning, June 6, 2014, Israeli police stormed the offices and studios of the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) in occupied East al-Quds (Jerusalem). The PBC stated that police raided the TV channel’s offices and studios and arrested “Good Morning Jerusalem” director Nader Bebers, Pal Media Coordinator Ashfar Shweiki, and the show’s guest Ala’ al-Haddad at gunpoint.
Al-Haddad is a member of the Jerusalem section of the Committee of Palestinian Detainees. All three were reportedly released after several hours of questioning without being offered legal representation.
Israeli media reported that the show incited violence while Jerusalem police falsely claims that the PBC does not have a license to broadcast. The raid took place against the backdrop of a weeks-long hunger strike of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons. The incident sends a clear message. Those behind the propaganda, the denigration, and the dehumanization of Arabland are afraid of the truth. They will go to any lengths to oppress it. The challenge is to go to any lengths to deconstruct the stage set for Arabland; to show the true face of Palestine and the true face of Zionism. It is time to set the record straight. Silence is complicity.

Israel crimes aimed at holding on to occupied lands
A political commentator says Israel continues its brutalities against Palestinian people to maintain its grip on the occupied Palestinian lands, Press TV reports. “We need to understand that violence committed by Israeli forces is done in order to maintain its ongoing occupation of the Palestinian territories,” Muhammed Suliman told Press TV in an interview.
Suliman said, “Israel does not respect its obligation under international” human rights regulations as the regime continues killing Palestinian civilians.
The analyst further censured Israel for its continued illegitimate settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian territories, calling on the regime to end its occupationist policies. The analyst described as “ridiculous” claims by the Tel Aviv regime that the recent attacks against the besieged Gaza Strip are aimed at targeting Palestinian resistance movements Hamas’ control centers. “Every airstrike that targets a Palestinian target in the Gaza Strip would eventually result in civilian casualties.” A previous eight-day Israeli offensive on the coastal enclave, which ended on November 21, 2012, claimed the lives of more than 160 Palestinians, including women and children. About 1,200 others were injured.
Nearly 80 Palestinians have been killed and over 500 others wounded since Israel launched its so-called “Operation Protective Edge” against the besieged strip on July 8. Tens of Palestinian homes have been completely destroyed, while over 1,500 others have been partially damaged. Palestinian resistance movements in the besieged Gaza Strip have responded to Israel’s aggression by targeting towns and cities deep inside the occupied Palestinian territories. On Thursday, more than 230 rockets were fired from Gaza. Gaza has been blockaded since June 2007. The blockade has caused a decline in the standards of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment and unrelenting poverty.
Israeli settlers kidnap, burn and kill Palestinian boy in Jerusalem
Israeli settlers kidnapped, burnt and killed a Palestinian child in occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday at dawn, international media reported.
The child was identified as Mohammed Abu Khudair, 16. He was reportedly kidnapped by Israeli settlers driving a grey Hyundai car. Abu Khudair’s uncle told reporters that his nephew was kidnapped while heading to mosque for Al-Fajr morning prayers, and that several witnesses in Shuafat, a neighbourhood in occupied east Jerusalem, saw the incident, reporting that Abu Khudair was forced into the car by Jewish settlers. The witnesses said they tried to chase the car as it was driving away from Jerusalem.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2014, several hundreds Israeli settlers, some chanting “Death to Arabs”, blocked the main entrance to Jerusalem while extremist mobs attacked Palestinians. Meanwhile, Palestine News Network reported that teenager Yousef Abu Zagh was shot and killed by Israeli occupation forces as they raided Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, and a nine-year-old Palestinian child was run over by an Israeli settler in the village of Jaba, south of the city.
The Israeli occupation army has engaged in a continuous military operation in the West Bank since 12 June, when three Israeli settlers went missing near Hebron.
In a statement, the army said that occupation forces had arrested 419 Palestinian activists, including 335 Hamas members, 12 Hamas leaders and 56 former prisoners previously released as a result of the prisoners swap deal reached in 2011. In addition, Israeli occupying forces broke into 63 Hamas run organisations and confiscated the funds of 84 Hamas run associations, as well as searched 2,218 Palestinian houses and structures while destroying 17 buildings. The occupation army warned that the operation was not yet complete as Israeli officials are pledging to continue their pursuit of the two Palestinians accused of kidnapping the Israeli settlers, Marwan Qwasmeh and Amer Abu Aisha, and vowing to destroy Hamas’s infrastructure.
Israel jumps at any pretext for Gaza ethnic cleaning
The Israeli regime resorts to any pretext to justify its ethnic cleansing plans against Palestinians living in the Occupied Territories, an analyst tells Press TV. In an interview with Press TV, E. Michael Jones highlighted the ongoing Israeli brutalities against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for what Tel Aviv alleges to be the killing of three Israelis by Hamas, although the Palestinian resistance movement has denied the claim. “Every time something like this happens, the Israelis use it as an excuse for more atrocities and more ethnic cleansing,” Jones said.
He noted that the Israeli regime’s strikes against the Palestinians are “totally disproportionate,” adding, “Israelis are punishing the entire Palestinian people.” Jones, however, said the Palestinian resistance group Hamas’ missiles have “shocked” the Zionist regime’s military. “I think the Israelis are hesitating to send the tanks in because they may find that the Palestinians have anti-tank missiles and that would not be a pleasant surprise,” he added. The analyst also said the US government would fail in its efforts to broker a peace between Israelis and Palestinians because “the Congress is in the pocket of the Israel lobby so it makes it virtually impossible for the government to criticize Israel.”
The death toll from the five days of Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip has risen to at least 130. More than 900 people have been injured in the latest round of Israeli attacks on Gaza since July 8. Most of the victims have been women and children.
Time to unmask apartheid Israel
It is high time that the true face of the apartheid Zionist regime was laid bare to the world, an analyst writes for Press TV. “It is time to set the record straight on Israel’s apartheid policy and genocide against Palestinians and to confront the enemies of truth,” Christof Lehmann wrote in a column for the Press TV website. The analyst’s column was in reaction to last Friday’s Israeli police raid on the offices and studios of the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) in the occupied East al-Quds (Jerusalem).
“The incident sends a clear message. Those behind the propaganda, the denigration, and the dehumanization of Arab land are afraid of the truth,” wrote Lehmann. The Israeli regime, aided by the United States and European governments, Lehmann said, is heavily investing in “propaganda industry” to portray Arabs as “villains and sub-human” in media and Hollywood-funded films. “The challenge is to go to any lengths to deconstruct the stage set for Arab land; to show the true face of Palestine and the true face of Zionism,” wrote Lehmann, adding, “Tear down the stage set for Arab land and you will be surprised how different the world looks.”
The analyst added that the Israeli seizure of Palestinian lands constitutes an “illegal military occupation.” He said that “silence” vis-à-vis the “decades-long extermination of Palestinians” by the Israeli regime amounts to “complicity.” More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds in 1967. Israel is currently faces a widening boycott campaign by some European businesses over its illegal settlement activities on the occupied Palestinian land. Two of Europe’s biggest financial institutions have boycotted transactions with Israeli companies involved in the illegal settlement construction. The European Union has also blocked all grants and funding to any Israeli entity based in the illegal settlements. (HSH)
